Today we spent the morning visiting the Garden District in New Orleans. We visited the famous Lafayette Cemetary. If you remember the movie Double Jeopardy with Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones, they had a scene there. It was the part where her husband hit her in the head and put her in a coffin located in one of the cement tombs. I was hoping to see a funeral where they have the jazz band playing. We did see a funeral but it was a regular one. I know it sounds bad to "want" to see one. Just wanted to see one that they are known for. People do die everyday. Some of the tombs had like ten people inside them. I have no idea how they would fit all of their bodies in that little tomb.
After our journey to the other side, we hopped into the car to find some lunch. Didn't find much so we decided to head on out to Texas. That's where we are now, League City TX. Really close to Houston. Tomorrow we plan on touring the NASA Space Station. Hope I can find some cool stuff to use in the classroom. Oh one thing we did see was an old ford bronco pulling a new helicopter. Go figure. Maybe he stole it. I am also attaching a picture of Baton Rouge. See you guys tomorrow.
Also attached is a picture of a liquor display at a Walgreens. LIQUOR @ WALGREENS!!!
The last picture is of Jessica (Jolyn's friend) and her 5 month old baby Scott.
